Clairefontaine Roadbooks

Calling all travelers, hikers, backpackers, bikers, and people who love the outdoors…the pleasure of your company is requested!

I would like to get some feedback and photos from the field on how well Clairefontaine Roadbooks perform as a travel journal or notebook.  How do they hold up in your backpack or day pack? Are they a good companion for your notes and observations?

Roadbooks come in two sizes:  3 1/2 x 5 1/2 and 6 x 8 1/4.  64 ruled sheets, 90g ruled white paper, elastic closure and printed flyleaf and end leaf for personalization. The cover is deep-dyed hardboard with leather effect.  Colors include black, tan, red, green and blue.

If you would be willing to take one along on an upcoming trip or excursion, and follow up with a photo and short review on its performance, please let me know by a comment on this post.  I’ll get in touch.

Thanks so much.

  1. Hi I’d like to try one out. I’ve just moved to New Mexico from England. Everyday is a new adventure for me!

  2. Hi, I would love to test one out, I am an avid fan of note books and journals, I have doing a project in Bolivian Amazon, La Paz and Bogota Colombia from March 6th and would love to give a test run, I currently use Moleskine, sorry to blaspheme. Conscious also that I maybe a little tight on time, I am also of to the Lebanon in April and then the Lake District in the UK just after Easter.

  3. I open a new pocket notebook at the start of each season for recording observations, etc from weekend excursions (hikes, mountain bike trips, etc). Would love to see how well the Roadbook compares to other pocket volumes I’ve used in past seasons (Moleskine, Field Notes, and Gallery Leather).

  4. I would love to test one out! I usually use a notebook for a planner and “a few lines a day” journal. I’m currently using a Midori but would give this a try. Thanks for the opportunity!
