What Time Is It?

Wait, I’ll have to dig out my cell phone to tell you because I can’t stand to wear a watch. I suppose it’s the teenage rebel in me – the one who liked to skip school and didn’t like being told what to do. I think I have a watch somewhere around the house – I bought it specifically to use the interval timer because I couldn’t find an smartphone app to do what I wanted it to.

I did at one time wear a watch- though I wore it with the face inside my left wrist as it was easier to see the time as I served sodas at a local teen hangout.

Do you wear a watch? Analog or digital?

  1. A watch is one of the few accessories for a man that never looks out of fashion or inappropriate. A cell phone? Not so much.

  2. I love my watch, and I feel naked without it. I love being able to tell the time at a quick glance of the wrist, without having to fumble around in my pocket for my phone – I can see why pocket watches fell out of favour. I also like the fact that my watch is ageing with me; telling a story of what we’ve been through together. Hopefully my son will appreciate that one day.

  3. My father was a watchmaker. I spent hours with him, just fascinated with the precision required for him to move escapements out of the movement, then carefully make repairs and re-assemble the watch.
As a result I have the same predilection for timepieces that I have for fountain pens. I own watches from Cartier, Officine Panerai, Chronoswiss, Sinn and Oris and I do not go a day without one of them being strapped to my wrist.
